Default Upgrade recommendations from a EcoNova aka NovaClear

After a 9 yr struggle with the above system I must upgrade. I've read here of others' struggles and dramas re this system. I would like a fool proof system with v few parts which will last me for a good 20+ yrs. With v little maintenance needed. I am on Russell Island with the Redland City Council, Qld.

Can you have the traditional septic tanks with leach drains?

I wish and envy people with those good old systems that have stood the test of time.

We installed that Econova, Novaclear in January 2008 and was often not working well, but maintained it until June 2015 it was replaced by the Fujiclean system. We did our regular maintenances in between the 3 months by the regular septic suppliers.

Fujiclean was quick to install and had the council approval in less than a day.

So since 2015, the Fujiclean has had no major or minor issues. Have had it pumped out around every two years, and regular maintained every 3 months. Arris is the SA maintenance mob in our area.

Compared to the Novaclear, it is quality, reliable, and uses way less power to run the system. There are other systems like Taylor etc but use more power than the Fuji. We looked at many options before deciding the Fujiclean. Best to find the current systems and find the best system in your area.

Septic systems with leach drains are not legal in our and many other areas.

I know what I'd do in this case (if possible). Rip out out all the bubblers etc in it and convert it to a good old septic tank.

Here is the info from one of the Septic Tank website:

Septic tanks are a cost effective septic solution for residential waste water treatment. With low maintenance requirements and often no need for pumps, they’re ideal for remote and rural households. However, the quality of the final liquid waste is poor. Generally you will only be allowed to install one of these if your land is greater than 2.5 acres and is without dams or nearby waterways.
Have a smaller property? Our wastewater treatment systems and tanks with sand filters are a better fit for smaller spaces or for land with environmentally sensitive features.

    Hi Chillichick,
Would appreciate a few parts if you still have the unit and are scrapping it.
Controller, pressure switch, blower, and membranes if still ok.
