Question Optus Cable into House Can I cut it off?

Optus say these are no longer used.
I'd like to get it removed.

however as I am not an OPTUS customer they are unable to log a call for me.

If I was to accidently cut the cable and then wrap it around the pole out the front and then log a case saying

there is damage to the optus network

Am I at risk of being injured? ie Is there power running thru it or is it really dead cable or just like a phone line?

Sorry photo attach on its side

Interesting question and I can see why you would want to get rid of it.
Sorry, I'm not sure of the answer but I think you would need a licensed cabler to work on it and Optus should be consulted.

Default Optus Cable into House Can I cut it off?

I have faced this issue with all of our rental properties, tenants move in and get Optus out any permission. Optus contract the work out and a sub standard install occurs. Next tenant wants Telstra and the next wants Foxtel. We had 1000’s of dollars of repairs to carry out as Optus in particular don’t have drip loops on the feed in cables for some reason. I just cut them off as mentioned not one uses them, they are ugly and cause property damage.

Didn't Optus sell their cable network to NBN about ten years ago? Good luck getting them out to touch something they no longer own. From memory NBN found that the Optus cable was not fit for use so they never used it. This was after they paid millions for it. I presume they still own it but as far as I know it is not used for anything. Finding someone to do something about it might be on par with finding someone who cares what happens to it.

suggests anywhere from 5v to 90v is on an Optus cable. Couple of links within may help

Contact Optus, After a few absurd questions from the "assistant", you may get a human that makes sense, sort of. They are obliged to remove the cables. Monday to friday online.
    PS
Some people report that Optus tried to charge them $90 ... but this is just off the net.
