Default Person fined $2000 for unlicensed electrical work in SA.

Just posted this link for another thread and while I was at it I thought I would point out another semi interesting article. Pg 6 "unlicensed electrical worker prosecuted".
He was reparing a plug in appliance and as a result nearly killed someone because of a slight error.

Also it is an interesting newsletter sent to all SA sparkies

... and lots of electrical workers/contractors fined for doing faulty electrical work too (ibid Page 8).

    Hi,

I thought that report, about the bloke falling in his pool with a 240VAC drill, was very instructive.

He had a RCD on the supply circuit and it did not trip, because the drill was double insulated and there was no earth fault to be detected !!

Veeerry good tale of caution needed.

    Cheers
