Is there to stop you installing a power point over a vanity unit?

    Default Power Points and Vanities

The positioning of GPOs over vanity units is regulated but not prohibited. There are measurements above and to the sides of the bowl of the vanity that must be adhered to. You electrician will advise the permitted location of the GPOs when inspecting the job.
