Pulsing vacuum cleaner Hello chaps,
We have a Makita vac that has developed a pulsing of the motor that seems top be pretty rhythmic. The motor will run at normal speed for say 2 seconds then drop down for 2 and back to normal. My first thought that the brushes may have worn down but there is still plenty of length on them. I have googled the issue but of course the results are determined by how I phrase the search. The best I have been able to come up with is that there is something to do with a flap on the suction that is stuck but there isn't such a beast on this machine. The vac also has a socket to connect a power tool to. Any suggestions what might be wrong?

Pulsing vacuum cleaner I know my Dyson did the same the other day, after a phone call to them it turns out it was blocked up. It's a built in function to help clear it out. Things they suggested - look through hoses for blockage or check filter for blockage or clean filter. It's just a thought. I know it's a different brand but who knows may help?!

Thanks for the response. It pulses even with no hose on and I have removed the filter and blown them out so that unfortunately isnt the issue.

How's the extension cable and switch gear.

I buzzed out each core of the lead and jiggled and bent it while I was doing it to see if there was a break but it didn't seem to make any difference. The switch gear is electronic so don't know how to check that out. There really isn't much inside a vac so it has got me stuffed what is wrong with it.
