    Question Balustrade

    I am replacing the balustrade on my deck but the tops of some of the timber posts have rotted. What can I do?

    Shorten them.

    Cut off the rotted section and dowel join new timber.

    Replace the top section on all with steel or alloy stirrups.
    Growing old is compulsory, growing up is not.
