    Question Cost of wire balustrade

    Hi,

I was just wondering if I could get a little feedback on a quoted price for wire balustrade (installed) on my deck. Quote of $2k for about 15 metres of balustrade+stairs etc. I know it is fairly pricey so it *seems* a reasonable price to me, but a feedback one way or the other is always appreciated,

    TIA,

Start here http://www.chsmith.com.au/Balusrail.html and see if you can do supply only under $1200....

second these guys for a home owner.. it depends how many cable runs in height they are fitting and how many turns / change of direction like a corner there are as to do it properly that is another set of tensioners..

Labour is what labour is and to get someone to your house to do work takes time and costs money so my suggestion is have a look, work out the gear cost and then see if you think the labour is fair.. if there is no timber work involved and only threading the cable then i would say he's allowed possibly a day plus a couple of hours to quote and measure.. ( labour rate depends on your area )

Its not that hard to install yourself if you have a drill and screw driver and get the right system so if you want cheaper go DIY Miami are a helpful bunch for DIYers

Real rough ballpark for cable and fittings for 10 runs of cable in 3mm would be 220-250 bucks a panel ( straight run under 6m )

    cheers utemad

Thanks for the replies everyone, I was going to be lazy and have it done but I think I can make the effort to do it myself lol.
