Angry Merbau Decking in Specific Lengths

Does anyone know where I can buy 90x19 merbau in specific lengths rather than linear meters in Brisbane area. I need 30 lengths at 3 metres each. Or is this not in the true spirit of deckmanship!!

I am sure that if that's what you need, you should be able to get it somewhere.... bugger deckmanship - I want it as easy as I can make it!

Bunnings... Pull it yourself even if you go to a few.. otherwise a lot of yards will do it for a higher rate or pull you all lengths longer than that at a higher rate etc

it is an ask though as your not the first and wont be the last... merbau is easy though as average is 3m -4.2 anyway

    cheers utemad

Yep, Bunnings is the go. A friend recently wanted to build his small deck with no joins in the floor so that meant he needed 40*4.2 metre lengths of Merbau and all timber yards told him to forget it, but one yard did say if you want it that bad go pull it out of the stack at Bunnings. It took him 3 trips over a month but he got what he wanted.

Thanks guys, might try the Bunnings angle. Maybe I can find one with humans on the workforce! I can get plenty of the 'flat on both sides' stuff for $5.45 a metre. Going on to F17 HW joists. Even if sealed with primer or rubber strip, is this still not a good idea?

Yep Bunnings is your best bet. I needed as many 5.1m lengths I could get my hands on, after trying 4 stores I finally found 8 in the one pack! You may need to go back every few days when they bring out a new pack but you will get there eventually.

Not only that, I was after 200m of 140x19 for my deck but no-on came near the price I paid of $6.50p/lm. Turns out Bunnings is 140x22 with the wrong ticket! Should have been $8.90p/lm. Go during the day when the full time staff are there. If you get a nice enough staff member to help you they might throw in a few extra short lengths. I did - over 30m for nothing! I am doing a border around columns, water featrure etc so they will come in handy.

    Good luck.
