Default Lacquering my newly sanded hardwood floor - DIY advice

    Hi People

Iím looking for advice/tips on how I should go about lacquering my newly sanded hardwood floor. The floor is ready and Iím going to use a water based semi gloss.

Is there a particular way/technique I should go about it.

Is it necessary to sand between coats?

Is there a particular applicator you could recommend?

Is there anything else you think I should keep in mind.

I'm very excited about getting stuck into it.

    Kind regards
    Judd

    Did you sand yourself?

I'm not a pro, but you will need a light sand between coats.

Definently sand between coats, and I would use a thicker roller sleeve finishing with the boards and try to stick to the correct application rate.

make sure you have done ALL your prep work and fill all holes and cracks as the varnish can flow into these and leave bumps which will look awful. Do a filler flood coat if needed to get it right. Follow instructions exactly and adjust for ambient temp and humidity. If you have ever painted with gloss oil paint you will know how to do your floor. Dont play with teh varnish too much as it will dry with air in it and streak badly..Work fast and with the right tools.
