I'm no floor sander but the way the pattern is so consistant it looks like the sander might have been chattering across the floor. Be interesting to see what the pros think.
We have a new heart pine floor that was sanded and stained and noticed what look like ridges or lines across the whole floor. Thought they were shadows from our wood blinds at first but I can feel them when I rub my hand over the floor. This is a replacement floor, our old pine floor was ruined in a flood and did not have this issue when it was finished. Insurance is convering the the new and I need to know if this was the sander's fault so I know what to say to my claims adjuster. Attached are a couple of pictures of the floor.
Thank you in advance.
Mike

The ridges have been formed by the drum sander, I wouldn't be happy with the result.
I looked up chatter marks and it looks like this is what I have. I am not happy!
Thanks again.

You have chatter, waves and dish-out. You need to talk to these people HERE
