Default Tallowwood Flooring - Price reasonable?

    Hi All,

I am extending my tallowwood flooring into one additional room at roughly 12sqm. I have found one mob in Sydney who will sell me second hand tallowwood boards in the correct size (85x19) for $7.50 per linear meter.

Wondering if this price sounds about right? Does anyone else know where in Sydney, Wollongong or surrounding areas I can source some boards? I would prefer second hand boards (as they are more likely to match my older boards) but if it works out a lot cheaper I am happy to go new.

    Thanks!

Spent the whole day saturday trying to source some 90 x 19 kempas in Sydney so been to a few places. $7.50 doesn't seem too bad for Sydney prices, most of the australian timber I saw was between $6-$9 per linear metre.

Have you tried Ironwood Australia they have lots of reclaimed timber but can be expensive, $9/lm for what I was looking for.

Ended up getting it new for $3.57/lm from

Thats around $88 per sqm. Tallowwood is a top of the range timber, so that is not unreasonable for Tallowwood, however there are cheaper options. Try Renovator Auctions (ex Laws Auctions) Ive had a lot of clients head that way

    Cheers
