Default make my own shower rail for claw bath

    Hi,

I'm replacing all the old brass/gold stuff in the bathroom for new chrome-plated equivalents.
We have a claw bath with a shower over it and the shower rail is suspended from the ceiling
and is a brass tube in a sort-of square shape that runs around the bath.
I want to replace this shower rail for a chrome-plated one however buying one off the shelf seems
    really expensive.
So, I was thinking whether I could make my own - Just not sure how to go about it?
    Would anyone have any ideas?
I'm thinking that I could buy a long piece of chrome plated pipe (not sure where from) and then
somehow (any ideas how?) bend it into a square shape and then connect another piece to suspend it
    from the ceiling.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Why not take it down and have it chrome plated, then put it back up.

    Thanks for the reply.
I did think of something like your suggestion but had no idea where I'd take it.
What type of place would do this?
I live in Melbourne, any ideas of specific places?

I made a suspended shower curtain ring for my claw foot bath out of 20mm copper tube with three
welded tees for the droppers, hoping to get it electroplated.

The electroplaters that I went to said that because of the shape and size it was impossible to be done.

Perhaps I didn't shop around enough, but I eventually painted it in a full gloss and it didn't look too bad.

Melbourne's a big place mate so if you live in Frankston, a member recommending a place in Campbellfield doesn't help you out as much as them knowing a general locale

I have found Preston Plate to be bulletproof with my plating needs - these days they're in Thomastown. Bill is the owner and extremely helpful/knowledgeable. They may be able to help. Making a rail is an OK idea except you won't be able to make it from a chromed tube, then bent to shape as the chrome will crack off. Plating the already bent up rail is the go, whether the brass one or another one you make (but why would you?)
