To clarify, is it ok to Sika the linear channel drain directly to the waterproofed shower floor and then screed around the linear channel to the appropriate height? Will the Sika provide enough support?
Thanks
Hello All,
Waterproofing is complete. Ready to install screed and shower drain channel.
1. Is it ok to sika (fc11) the channel drain directly to the waterproofing and then fill the screed around the channel drain and the rest of the floor? I assume the sika would create a gap of a few mm’s under the metal channel drain which would also prevent the drain contacting and potentially damaging the waterproofing. Is this reasonable?
2. Waterproofing is K10 Plus. Before laying the screed (Lanko 189), should I prime with PrimeX so that the screed is bonded to the WP. Screed will be 15mm at the drain and 35mm at outer perimeter. Screed will be 10mm lower than the channel drain edge to allow for tiles etc.
Thanks in advance
