    Default Tileable shower tray

    Hi,
I'm new to this forum and I just about to tackle a full bathroom reno. The house has a timber floor and we are wanting a frameless shower screen that sits straight on the floor with no hob. I'm thinking one of the tileable shower bases might be the go .I've found a few different ones on the web, but can anyone recommend a particular brand or one to use
    Thanks

Welcome. I haven't used one of those trays so can't recommend a brand. What are you covering the rest of the timber floor with (don't say tiles ... lol) ... cement sheet, sycon, etc.?

I've used the Atlantis package which is base and glass in one kit, it isn't cheap but instructions are reasonable and all went together well. Can't comment on other brands but I would think there are plenty out there.

You most likely will find that you will have to have a small hob, this is because if you make it the same level from the door you won't have any fall to the drain unless you remove the base that is there now and start at the joists, maybe needing to cut the joist out a bit.
You need a solid base under the shower.
I did a retile at my daughters place on the second floor so the drain could not be changed easily then found that making the right fall left me a little high at the door,a hob about 40mm fixed that.
I looked at those inserts but could not find one to fit(shower is 950x2200) so had to do my own thing, the insert would be the way to go as all the falls are built in.

I have no base there as I am changing the layout of the bathroom from a shower over the bath to separate shower/bath. So the shower is going in a new position. I was planning on sinking it in the floor that's why I like the idea of the trays as they have the fall made into them.

I did see the ezilay one. I found quite a few on the net, just wanted to see if anyone has had any experiences with any of them.

I have used both the Marmox and ezillay over the last couple of years and the Jigsaw one some

years back. They are very similar. I don't have a preference. The ezilay is the cheapest.
