    Default Too big for Silicon!

I have installed a glass shower screen but due to the slope of the floor one end is about 15mm above the floor with the other end actually on the floor. This forms quite a gap which I am tempted to fill with Silicon but think there maybe a better solution. Maybe cut a long wedge shape out of some plastic 15mm at the fat end and seal that under the screen?
OR fill it first with grout? OR cement, then grout?
    Don't know the best approach.

Grateful for any help. Cheers Martin

isn't this the same as your other thread?

15mm is a pretty big gap. can you talk more about how your shower screen is supported? for frameless or semi-frameless, often the silicon is also used for strength to keep things in place - at 15mm you won't really have any strong bond there ...

if you're fine with the (lack of) that, if its simply a gap under the glass, how thick is the glass?
if its 10mm glass in theory at least, it is probably possible to 'squeegie' silicon under that, but i don't think its going to look particularly nice...

The sink is solved, with silicon.
But the screen however needs the gap beneath the door frame stopped up with something. It's just to stop the water washing under the door, not really structural. I think it's too big for silicon entirely and could look ugly. So maybe grout? Can that be used for a 15mm gap? or even cement which would work but seems overkill!

    Hi
What is the profile of the trim, is it 'L' shape? Do they make the stuff for bathrooms (ie white coated) in particular or is it a generic Aluminium Trim?
You may be on to something here.

    Cheers

Shower screens are done like this on occasion when things are a little too radical.

You can buy ally trim to many dimensions. Up to an above 100mm

Yes powder or anodised in many colours.

You can buy spray paint in many colours too. Its basically motor paint in a can I think.

You can silicon on backed with a pop rivet.
