    Default Dulux Stone

Hey guys, Im going to use a couple of stone colours in my house. I dont intend to give it a textured finish so do I need to by the special Dulux Stone paint? Or can I just use Wash n Wear tinted to the stone colour?

    Thanks,

    Clay.

If you don't want a textured finish then you have to use normal Wash n Wear. Dulux Stone has a texture through it.

Dulux will tint the wash and wear to any colour you want including the Stone colours.

Thanks for all the reply's. I actually went down to bunnings and had a look inside the Dulux Stone tin. The paint is thick with sand like granules in it to give the stone finish. I like the sandy like finish but I wonder how it would look, without applying a textured criss cross with a wide brush?

I have interior feauture walls painted in Dulux stone paint. If you do not apply the criss-cross technique it comes up with an even texture. It is similar to but thicker than Porter Paints (who btw do great stone colours). It needs 2 coats minimum to look like the end result - ie the 1st coat looks gritty and watery but 2nd brings it all to life.
