    Default Painting Advice

Long time reader first time forum.

I am looking for some advice on a painting issue that I have after completing my toilet, bathroom and ensuite renovations. I have prepped all three rooms identically by sanding back, applying two undercoat and two coats of semi gloss acrylic on existing painted ceiling.

However in my bathroom and toilet plasterboard clout stains have appeared. I am at a loss because the ensuite doesn't have the same problem and both the toilet and bathroom are very well ventilated.

The thing that it makes it perplexing as the stains were not visible prior to the new paint being applied.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Can't quite believe nobody had your answer. There is a paint primer that stops the rust coming through. If you just use ordinary paint it will continue. But for the life of me I cant remember what its called. so I held off answering. There should though be others who will read this and name the stuff so dont give up on us yet. Found it Zinzer paint.

Hi rrobor, i kind of suspect that a rust primer might be needed after reading through a number of threads. when i repaint the rooms i will keep it in mind. Thanks for your response greatly appreciated
