Will paint hold well on laminated melamine. Do i need a sealer binder.
It's this style wardrobe but this is not mine.
Renovating the bedroom. So much work involved. Need to paint the rendered wall of the built in wardrobe and the little ceiling part inside it too. Hard to reach, and painting between shelves. Tight spaces.
Some of the wardrobe shelving is an old yellow colour and it doesn't match with the new white drawers that were installed later on. I was thinking of painting it white to match the drawers.
Will the surface look silly painted.
Also wanted to paint the sliding doors on the build in wardrobe to freshen them up. They've got some kind of matte laminate.

Anyway, you can get special paint, which may be suitable for the doors... but I wouldn't attempt painting the whole inside if the unit. You won't notice once you fill it with your stuff and close the doors.
If those shelves lift it you could just replace them.
What about painting the roller doors? Can I do that. What type of matte paint would be best? They have stains.
The old roller doors are white. I want to paint them but not sure what colour. I'm painting the walls in Dulux Beige Royal. Will it look silly if I also paint the roller doors in beige royal?
You need a special paint that with adhere to laminate. I would just try giving the doors a good clean.

I used enamel on the kitchen doors and some normal solver wall paint (sorry dont know what type it was, but wasnt enamel) for the wardrobe. The wardrobe ones were a bit fragile - put a few scratches on them with the vacuum cleaner, but the kitchen doors lasted really amazingly well - sold the house about 6 years after painting, and they were still in great condition.
