Default Diagonal gyprock plaster crack repair/ hide

I had a quick look already on this forum for this..
I have a couple diagonal cracks in gyprock plaster sheet that I stuck on a masonry wall in a bedroom.
    I know I can't stop the crack but I can hide/ repair..
Is paper tape the answer and if so, is digging the crack out and widening necessary?..or just a bead of plaster and tape and finish?

I think it will be best to dig out a few mm deep and wider than the paper tape, fill with base coat (or all-purpose), bed in the paper tape ensuring no bubbles, and coat over the top until you can achieve a feathered finish. But really depends on how particular you want to be
