Default How will you fill these

What would be the best product to fill around these balustrade fittings. Although the depressions won’t be visible when the metal caps go back on, I want to stop the water pooling in these. I want to bring the level up just above the level of the tiles.

The tiler suggested grout or mortar. I think both would crack. Im thinking of using my old standby of floor leveling compound, but does anyone have a better suggestion.

FWIW: the grey material at the bottom of the depression is water based waterproofing membrane. There are about 15 of these to do.

    Cheers

My first thought would be a structural grout.

Good idea. Similar to floor leveller but easier to find.
