I am installing a bathtub and want the tile to sit flush with the front face/edge of the bath. I am bricking up the front. How much should I setback the brickwork so the tiles end up flush. I am thinking 10mm for render coat + 6mm tile+4mm adhesive=20mm brick setback. Does this about right. I will be using 200x400mm wall tiles.?
4mm for the adhesive sounds a bit excessive, the rest is about right.
why do you choose to brick the bath box rather than timber and fibro sheet?

Probably the real reason is there is because there is allways free left over bricks and sand so they brick them in.

A little update - I had a tiler come in and quote and he said he glues directly onto the brickwork. No float/render coat.
