Floor tile and wall tile glues are not the same and glue used in wet areas can be a lot diferent to the stuff used in hallway, though not always, talk to your tile clue supplier first and avoid the pre mixed stuff that comes in a sealed drum, it can take forever to off.

You could try a little turps or other chemical cleaners but not a lot of hope. I would remove the old hob and replace it with Hebel stone and redo the waterproofing rather than risk laying more tiles only to find it still leaks.

The other alternative would be to install a 50mm angle to replace the hob altogether. You could locate so the original screen can be refitted.
