    Default Tile cutters

    Hi Guys,

Forgive me as this is another "which tile cutter would suit" post, but I havent found my answer yet.

I am renovating two houses at the moment and its time for me to do some tiling. The tiles I have are 300x300 ceramic for the floor and 190 x 490 porcelain for walls, however I dont forsee any long cuts on the wall tiles.

I have seen the $30 ones at bunnings, but from what Ive read, the tracks seem to have a lot of play in them making a straight cut virtually impossible. I have tried to do my reading on sigma tile cutters, but have no idea what the difference is between the various models.

In total, I have 2 bathrooms, 2 laundries, a kitchen splashback, foyer and front porch to tile, so I thought it would be prudent to get a decent quality cutter.

Can someone also tell me - The floor tiles that I bought are exteriror tiles, with the wavy surface... Does this affect the ability to scribe the surface in order to cut the tile?

    Cheers.

    Hi Trevy,
Is this just because of the capacity of the cutter? Do you know of the differences between the various models etc?
Also, I have heard here and there that some tile cutters struggle with porcelain. Do you know if sigma has this difficulty?
    Cheers.

sigma will make light work of porcelian , its all in the setup.
I only suggested the art 5 because of your tile size , if your after an all rounder grab a sigma that can do 600mm

Been using my monorail Ishii - love it - glad I got a 660 though. You just never know when the Mrs is going to pick some glossy big 600mm tiles ....
