Default Cupolex - on sloping site instead of waffle slab - anyone tried these?

    Hi
Im seriously considering Cupolex as sub-floor formers for a concrete slab for a small extension, around 9x3.8m. https://www.cupolex.com.au/

As I'm building the extension at the rear of my old house which is built on piers, Im reluctant to put a slab right up against the house to trap moisture against the old walls. However the benefit seems to be that the Cupolex system allows linked voids and therefore mechanical (or passive) ventilation underneath the slab

My concern also with waffle slabs is that they're only recommended for flat sites with good fall all around, to prevent pooling under the slab. Waffle slabs voids are isolated, not linked as in Cupolex.

My site is on a slope and I have good drainage but still am worried about Cupolex in this sort of location

Has anyone used these? Happy to hear about your experiences, thank you

    Hi Debunk,

I'm looking at cupolex system as well. How did you go with it?

    Cheers

hi my engineer ended up desinging a stiffened raft slab. From what Ive read, waffles/ cupolex are good on flat sites or top of hills etc- otherwise water can pool under without careful detailing
