Default Adding a pier to an existing fence

Hi, as per the attached photo, I'm considering removing a section of our front fence to add a pedestrian gate.

The small remaining section of wall to the left would need to be supported. I was originally thinking of concreting in a 100x100 steel post bolted to the wall, but the wall is not plumb - it has a significant lean, and I'd want the post to be plumb for the gate to close on to. If I try bolt the fence to a plumb post, I'm sure it will crack the fence.

I was wondering if it's possible to add a new brick pier instead and how this could be tied into existing wall?

    Any suggestions appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Jonty

Demolish the whole section, gate opening and the crooked rest of the wall between gate and driveway, and rebuild. What do you intend to use for gate? You can use the same material for the little fix panel.
Or have the gate at the end of the wall. Either way the leaning wall has to go.

Thanks Marc. I think that's the route I'll probably end up going down. Gate will be aluminium slat, so I can make up a fence section in the same materials, as suggested.

If the fence has to go, so does the house over the road . I think it's the camera lens playing tricks
