Default Balustrade quote - Is this reasonable?

    Hi all,

I have been supplied a quote for a balustrade for my balcony. In total it is 13m in length, has 3 right angle turns, and 1 angle change where it goes down a few stairs.

It is aluminium framed glass, similar to the following:

Quote came in at around $3,200.

Is this price reasonable? It is REALLY hard to find companies to quote this job in Wollongong, and this company were the only ones I could get.

    Thanks
    Jared.

From memory, the glass panels used in these are about 100 odd bucks each, at ~1200mm. So glass would be about $1200+. Stainless fixings I'm not sure, but I would guess min $40 ea. add labour and profit, and the quote is probably competitive. But I'm not in that game. Perhaps someone who is will reply.

    Thanks termiMonster.

Forgot to mention that this does NOT include installation. I decided to do this myself to save a few bucks. Also not sure if there is any stainless involved?

    Cheers!

Usually the fittings that hold the sheets are SS, though I'm sure there are other types available, come to think of it, you could use powder coated Al.
I have seen this stuff at the Big Green Shed, maybe drop by there and get a comparison, but make sure you know exactly what the quote includes, ie type of fittings, fixings, delivery, etc.
    Good luck with it.

Yeah I popped into bunnings and had a look at what they've got, but its generally just pool fencing. Nothing like what I'm after unfortunately.
