Default stone fence to seperate front yard from nature strip

    hi
i have been looking at stone fences to match the stone house i have. i just want a low fence to separate my front yard from the nature strip
but most of the stone fences i have seen look weathered n black is there a way to look after them to stop it or should i just go a colourbond fence?
im also struggling to find different styles of stone fences that appeal to me it seems rare to find stone fences

In general they're expensive and should be sealed to stop the staining.

Adelaide doesn't need another colourbond fence.

Harwood is a good contrast in colour ad texture to stone houses but if stone is the only way look at cladding products.

I Suspect not many people use 'wet it and forget it' a product that is sprayed once a year to prevent mould and moss growth.

    Good luck.

Depends on the sort of stone you use too - If you want to match the house, then you need to source something like the original stone. Otherwise I would go timber fence. Are you thinking drystone or cementing it together?

just because im in SA doesn't mean i live in Adelaide

im not a fan of wood fences they weather too easily
stones not the only way but its my first choice, never thought of cladding products but ill look into that

i was thinking stone blocks with mortar doesnt have to be same stone as house just just a stone texture is what im after

thanks u have given me a few ideas to expand on

If you can't match the original stone, then try to match the shape - it will give a more coordinated result so it does not look like an afterthought.

Pool chlorine works great to get rid of blackness, which is actually dirt and bugs impregnated into the coarse sandstone surface. It also wont remove the rough texture like pressure washers will. However it will kill your grass so apply with a brush/broom sparingly.

Try building your front fence with treated pine pickets and a few coarse of dry pressed brick underneath for a nice look.
