    Default Untreated pine fence rail

    Hi,

In my naivety I replaced a section of paling fence in my garden and used untreated mpg10 pine for the rails

How long is the pine likely to last outside in the rain, should I look at painting the rails or should I just take them off and start again.........

With all the stuffing around trying to protect it with exotic paints/finishes I'd replace it now.

if you can't be assed replacing it, give it a good soaking with CN oil. I'd treat it regulatly too (6 mthlyish)

Thanks, probably best I just replace it then. It's only $40 worth of timber and some rework now rather than constant upkeep....
