    hi guys,
this is my first time on this site so fogive my ignorance and spelling.
i have a 60's brick & tile. roof is black and have been told it needs to be repointed & repainted. not sure if a simple gerni & repoint would do the trick?

A Gerni would clean them up. Then you will have a better idea of whether you need a re-point. Re-painting would only be for aethetics. They don't need to be re-painted to be waterproof.

    thanks,
waterproofing was my concern and the repointing is needed by the look of it. I think I'll tackle that myself with the flexible tubs made up for sale at bunnings, any tips would be appreciated
