roof tiles and moss I have an old 60's built place and the roof is tiled. The tiles have quite a bit of moss growing on them, I think it looks kinda nice, but someone said we should scrub the moss off as it is bad for the tiles. We don't wanna be up on the roof scrubbing if it's not necessary. We've owned and renovated a few houses but this is the first with roof tiles so we don't really know much about them. As I drive around this town I notice that alot of other homes have mossy roof tiles too. It seems to be constant rain here lately and it's cold too, our house has damp issues, could it be due to moss on the roof tiles?
Wet and forget will remove it and not of effort, just a garden spray job.
It's not an instant fix any you may have to do it twice if it's very bad, but it will come up a treat.
I used to spend many hours running around with high pressure cleaners only to see things getting worse after just a couple of months, no more, just an annual spray.
And no, I have no connection with the above, just a happy user.

Im a Tiler by trade and i find the best thing is to hit it with a mould killer let it sit for an hour then pressure clean it off. most pressure cleaners have a chemical intake and nozzal to make it easy.
Then just hit it once more with mould kill and leave it on if u have water takes make sure u divert the water from the tank
Also could try 2kgs of copper sulphate crystals mixed with 45 litres of water sprayed on to the affected areas. Be sure to fill the gutters and metal flashings with water.
