Hi all,

I want to re-roof my home before sticking up solar panels. I plan on doing this myself.

My plan (because i'm working alone) is to strip off the first few courses of tiles so as to expose enough room to lay a 1300mm roll of sarking along the length of the roof (after removing the old battens). I plan on doing this in sections matching the length that the battens come in.

Is the truss roof able to accommodate the tiles I take off if I stack them in, say 6 or 7's, further up towards the ridge? Remember, I plan only to strip off 1300mm or so up from the fascia, and however long the battens are.

I'm guessing it'd be fine, because the same load remains on the roof albeit in different places (I understand there is a factor of point load).

Ta.
