Default Blocking timber for joists into steel beams

    Hello

I have some prefabricated joists that Iím getting installed. The joists are being supported by hoist hangers which are secured into 300pfc and 250ub89.5 steel beams. I have to install some blocking Timber in the webs of the steel beams for the joist hangers to screw into.

I had the steal beam manufacturer drill me top and bottom holes at 900cts into the steel beams in preparation for this. I plan to bolt the blocking timber into the beams.

Can I use 4.6 grade structural bolts to secure the blocking timber? Or should I be using a higher rated bolt (say 8.8)?

I am assuming that this has been through an engineer for designing, if so then what information is in the design?
If it does not include the required information I would be deferring to the engineer.

I have never seen this detailed on engineering plans for some reason and I've done a number of owner builds. I have always used 8.8 structural bolts, but they're just not available in the market now for some reason.

Was hoping someone could give me a quick reply, I will ask the engineer in anycase, but the response time is very slow.

depends on the documents with the joist hangers. why not weld brackets to the steel to support the joists? say 50 x 50 angle with flat bar welded to the bottom.
    sorry for the ramble.
