    Default hanging beam span

We need to take out a load bearing wall in our bathroom reno. Nothing major it is a hanging beam sitting across the main bath 2m span at the moment. We're taking out the wall to the toilet so the new one will have to go teh extra 1m to and sit on the next wall ie. 3m span. I can't find a span table that deals with hanging beams. What's my best option here? and what's best way to fix it to the ceiling joists?

Is it ceiling weight only? If so

What is the span of the ceiling joists (distance between walls) ?
    And
What is the span of hanging beam? You say 3M. A little this way or that can make a difference.

depending on roof structure, it could be a strutting beam needed instead if wall is taking load of underpurlins.
