Take a sharp Stanley knife and use the sharp blade to seperate any paint or varnish from between the frame and the window sill.
Take a fairly broad paint scraper and insert it by gently tapping it with a hammer, behind the architrave. It can be better to start in the middle of a long length. If you can see any nail holes (or putty) avoid inserting the blade near the nails, rather take the point away from nails. Once you have freed it up a bit use a wide chisel behind the blade to gently open up the gap. Once you pop a nail head remove the chisel and allow the wood to return to its original position. The trick is to leave the nail head exposed. See if you can use a claw hammer to remove any nails. Protect the wood from the hammer with a scrap of wood or the blade of the paint scraper. Work your way around the window.
