Default is everything opaque already resistant to uv? (curtain)

is everything, as long as it is opaque, already resistant to uv? is "uv-resistant" just a marketing term? or is there really addictive or chemical needed to make something resistant to uv? I am buying curtain and my windows is exposed to strong sunlight

Opaqueness doesn't stop UV break down per se. Most synthetics will break down from UV in sunlight in just a few years unless they are stabilised with something to prevent this happening. Even then, choose a reputable brand if you want the curtains to last more than 10 years, or get 100% natural fibres like wool or cotton.

    Get your window glass tinted.
Or install a second light curtain on the window side.
Enjoy present pleasures in such a way as not to injure future ones.
