Recess sliding door rail into floor Hi all
We have a 5m x 2.4m alimony sliding door going into our extension.
The floor is built on stumps. I'd like to recess the base of the door frame into the floor, but I'm told this can't be done unless you're on a slab.
Even if only part of it can be recessed I'll be happy.
Can anyone think of a way?

Of course it can be done, whether the builder wants to do it that way is another question.

Mine are, with 35mm for flooring the door sill plate sits level.

I've done some more reading and it looks like we can recess it more by lowering the joists below the door. However I guessing water drainage would then need to be considered.
