    It's an off grid system, the inverter or system will have a facility for generator backup for charging the batteries, all the OP wants to do is replace the generator with a lead from the grid system, no rocket science needs to be engaged. inter

    The most cost effective remedy is to waterproof under the brick veneer wall and turn it up the timber wall inside the cavity, the horse has bolted so to speak, run alcor flashing over the top of it for impact protection of the bricklayers task of laying the bricks. inter

    I'm not understanding why there is a problem , you are going to feed the inverter which will charge the batteries, the inverter will regulate the supply to the batteries which will in turn power a separate 240v system, the separate supply to the inverter could be a genset or whatever, it isn't going to back feed 240v out that way, if it did a lead plugged into it would be live at the male end. inter

    Embedment of timber posts in masonry is not usual or good practice, a stirrup on top of the masonry is though, there may have to be a reinforced concrete pier for structural strength to resist uplift & articulation, get an engineers opinion . inter
