    Thanks Hava, after giving the space a bit of a sweep it still appears in good condition, but definitely going to give it another coat of waterproofing. You are right, it should last another 20y that way. Will have to look into gal battens. Being upwind of a saltwater lake, corrosion is a concern so might be better to stick with treated pine. Still considering.

    Hi all, or upstairs deck of treated pine has had it. Replacing with mod wood as it’s shaded most of the winter and open to the rain. I’m also not a fan of oiling decks annually. Putting the boards on is the easy bit. In stripping off the old boards it was nailed to TP battens glued to the waterproofing. I’ll be replacing the battens as well. They are probably 20yo and half have come unstuck from the waterproof layer and aren’t in great condition. Not sure, but there appears to be...
