Wow. I reckon I'll probably skip that step if it's not required. I've never heard of that before. I think I'll be able to visually asses that the asbestos has been removed lol

How'd you go? I've scraped and sanded that crap back before when I didn't have a clue there could be asbestos in it...
Thanks for your reply akis50. What exactly does a "hygienist" do? Clean up the mess?? I assumed any dust should be removed during the process as it may contain asbestos?
Thanks for the reply Bloss. That's not too bad. I'll try and get some quotes soon and go from there.
I've got a downstairs bathroom and laundry I was considering renovating that is clad in cement board. I got the test results back and as expected, asbestos.
I'll be getting some asbestos removal...
I completely agree with you on all your points. Most of them should be in prison. The corruption and crap they get away with currently is crazy.
That's it RodEye, and thanks for that suggestion, that may just be the solution! :2tsup:
Thanks for the replies guys. I'll get some pics when I'm out at the property again later this week. Basically the old clay pipe was broken off where it embeds into a cement wall which I assume goes...
With the location the call out fee would be higher than the job fee! lol
I've been exploring under my house recently and wished I hadn't. I keep finding issues. Though I guess it's better now than when it's worse later.
I've just found where the plastic waste pipe...
I'll grab some pics today. The timber used in the joists is old Tas oak hardwood, very solid. The floor doesn't bounce, or dip etc. You wouldn't know from the inside. The notches are pretty big...
So while under the house looking at one issue, I discovered another... Large notches have been cut out of the hardwood joists for waste pipes.
Would the correct way to repair them be to place...
We had a broken waste pipe leaking under the house for a long time by the looks of the amount of water present which we didn't know about and finally just had repaired. Being winter down here, it's...
Thanks for the replies.
Just the shower base will have the fall towards the back wall of the shower where the horizontal strip drain will be - not the entire bathroom. So there will be a slight lip...
Currently the bathroom floor comprises of hardwood tongue in groove flooring, with suprisingly little rot (mainly along the edges of where the old shower/bath was). I've removed boards to get to...
I'm using a horizontal shower drain and was thinking to just slice a bit out of the wooden joist to create an angle in the shower towards the drain so that the flooring slopes. Is there any reason...
I'm currently renoing a bathroom and have had to rip up the floor where the new shower will go and also a few sections elsewhere in the bathroom. I'm trying to figure out what to replace the floor...
Actually, surprisingly the sills aren't too bad. The black paint is bubbling off, but there doesn't seem to be any rot. The eaves tend to sheild the windows from most of the rain. My previous reno...
Thanks for the advice guys.
I'll hit it with a heat gun first, then some metho, but I'm sure I'll end up having to use Digger's Paint Stripper. My heat gun went MIA so I thought I'd ask before I...
Anyone have a good method for removing acrylic paint from brick work? I had a quick go with the pressure washer while I was stripping the flakey paint of the gutters, but I was a bit worried I'd...
I'm wanting to paint the exterior of my house and I'm a little nervous about prepping and painting around the electrical connection to the house. Seeing as it's insulated I should be right if I'm...
Hey have you done any interior painting with the Ozito? I'm trying to decide between that model and a Wagner. I would want to use it on interior as well. Do you need to thin the paint down, or is it...
In my other post I was considering cleaning out my mates Wagner but it looks as though it requires too much work and perhaps money. I'll be using it to spray my roof. Seeing how I will be using the...
Hi all, my friend has loaned me his Wagner F350 Airless Sprayer to paint my roof with. He said it's been sitting for a few years with clogged paint through it and if I can get it unstuck I'm free to...
