Yep, I hate 'em too. We have the disgusting new fangled ones at work. Call me old fashioned but I love the plug!
Have a look at this old thread www.renovateforum.com/f200/quick-fix-kitchen-benchtops-76532/
I used White Knight Tile and Laminate paint (I think that's what it's called) on my benchtops. Three...
Yep, what Godzilla mentioned. Drill speed is important, not too fast, don't get the bit hot. Run some lube too, even just water works fine to keep the bit cool.
I did my bathroom with a cheapo $30 cutter and didn't have a problem.
Yep, sure, you had to be careful to follow the line on the tile or the cut would waver but not really an issue.
And BTW,...
Do you mean lay yellow tongue over the floorboards? Surely that is going to make the tiles very high compared to just using tile underlay i.e. 19mm(?) yellow tongue versus 7mm(?) tile underlay.
I tried the blue skin but didn't like it as much. The blue lines are little harder to see and the posts seem to merge together.
It's easier seeing who wrote what with the cacky brown skin.
BTW, I think I like the new look.......I think.
Hi Noel,
Is there a listing of what all the different icons mean? Hovering over them doesn't always reveal a meaning, there's blue envelopes, red envelopes, black stars, little erasers, blue...
Smaller tiles are certainly easier to lay on a shower floor.
There are other things to consider, will the tiler need to cut the 300x300 tiles on the diagonal to get them to sit properly? I ended up...
That spade sounds like an axe I have, passed down from my grandfather.
It's had 3 new heads and 4 new handles but it's still the same axe
Probably doesn't matter which way you do it.
It depends what sort of corners the new door has i.e. mitre or butt joints. Also depends how wide the frame is on the screen door. If you shave 5mm...
A 70W fan :oo:
I hope you've done your sums, because you'd want some serious savings to make up for that running most of the day.
Keep your eye on allclassifieds.com.au too.
And remember, a 20m extension lead won't go 25m :D
Basic White King bleach can do a good job too depending on the types of stains.
Looks fine either way, and the fact that you had to ask means it doesn't matter much to you either.
Go the easy option and leave it as it is, have a beer instead.
A little angle grinder will do the job but as Ricardito points out, it makes a lot of dust, not that wet sawing is a clean job anyway.
Think twice before using a 9 inch grinder if your not...
I saw a Green Donkey today on TV.
Bob Brown was campaigning for more forests or something. :D
Not sure why doing the walls first would reduce the amount of cutting?
If you do the walls first, you start on the second row and then come back and cut and fit the bottom row to fit to the...
Nice work Master S.
4k voice, sample at 8k, 8 bit samples, 64k channel. Magic. Ah that takes me back.
Sorry, normal programming will be resumed shortly.
Yep, agree with Ned, pan on tiles.
No major problem if you update the pan later too.
Call me stupid but I couldn't work it out.
The link takes you to the eBay site but doesn't explain the 'no nail' system.
Hi all,
Here in Canberra anyone selling a house needs to have the building inspection completed prior to sale. It saves potential buyers from each having to pay for an inspection which is wasted...
That is a mega impressive piece of work. :2tsup:
Wire brush attachment thingy in a power drill??
BillyBob,
I think your method works fine as long as the floor is flat and level all round. The theory about starting the wall on the second row is that you work from a straight and level line that...
Yep MDF is fine in non wet areas, including kitchens, and paints up very nicely.
Chances are the plumbing won't be too far away but it will still need quite a bit of work to get a bath back in. It's inevtiably going to mean some retiling which means you need to find the existing...
I absolutely wouldn't put anything against a fence, they're not made for it. Putting plastic against it won't help because the water will get in and then it will just rot next to the plastic. There...
Can one of the experts here post a picture of what it should look like.
I can't picture what a 'good' finish should look like.
Snow pea problem?
Don't eat the yellow snow!
In my earlier post I assumed you would slide back some tiles, not send a skinny bloke into the roof. You won't get close enough to the edge inside the roof, and I just noticed you may have trouble...
Dropping the cable down the cavity between the bricks and the stud wall is generally pretty easy. Drop a string first with a big nut or something heavy on the end.
Not sure what you will strike...
I know raised beds can be a bit easier on the back but they do need more water because they tend to drain more quickly. A garden bed at ground level will hold the water much better.
Gerry, I think you silicone between the tap body and the penetration so that if you have a leaking spindle it doesn't end up wetting the wall internals. I think you can buy proper seals or just lay a...
Yeah, looks dodgy to me.
Like they reckon the world is round too. The people on the bottom would fall off if that was the case.
When I look out my window all I see is flat earth.
Certainly available in aluminium in the commercial arena but never seen one in the wooden/domestic type. As China says, weather sealing would be the issue.
There's probably not much you can do easily once the veneer has started to go.
Quicker and easier to go get a new door. They're pretty cheap these days assuming you can hang it yourself.
TOOLS EXPLAINED
DRILL PRESS:
A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat metal bar stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and flings your beer across the room,...
